Japanese restaurant in Chelsea : Kiru

Japanese restaurant in Chelsea

I was tasked with finding a decent Japanese restaurant in Chelsea by a few friends for a Saturday evening catch up and luckily enough I picked a Japanese restaurant in Chelsea called Kiru courtesy of Open table. I got to the restaurant based on Elystan street, at least 20 minutes before everyone, which wasn't bad considering I get everywhere late. So while waiting I ordered a bottle of sake described as the dulcet silk milk wonder, ShoChikubai Taruzake. This 375 ml bottle of cold sake priced at £25, was worth every drop.

My friends turned up and the ordering began. We pretty much ordered dishes from all over the menu . So here are a few pictures from the evening. The snacks came out first and I have to say that it was all delicious. The popcorn shrimp was soo moorish, every picture had someone's fingers reaching into the bowl. That's probably your finger Diana.

Snacks

Kiru popcorn shrimp with 3 sauces

Japanese Wagyu harumaki

Special dishes

Snacks over, we picked a variety of special dishes as our main course. All were cooked to perfection of course. No complaints here.

Kiru salmon

This 12 hours cooked pork belly with balsamic miso and apple sauce deserves a mention as one of the best dishes of the evening. The balsamic miso and apple sauce complemented the pork belly perfectly.

Everyone loves a good black cod and this was one of the very good ones.

So there goes my time at Kiru. Very good Japanese fine dining restaurant with customer service that can't be faulted. I am definitely  looking forward to another evening at this restaurant.  Hope you enjoyed the read my fellow foodies and post again in a few days. The next post will probably cover a Scandinavian BBQ restaurant in the heart of Shoreditch, so keep an eye out.
